Egypt's Ambassador to Khartoum Hossam Eissa denied the rumor on Tuesday saying that Egypt has always welcomed Sudanese people at any given time, stating that the viral document is fake.
Eissa asserted Egypt's keenness to boost relations between Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, explaining that the rumors 'aimed to impact the joint links and close coordination between the two countries in all aspects'.
A fake document went viral on social media stated "that Egypt would prevent the entry of Sudanese people through air and land, with the exception of medical cases, starting from Thursday 30 June due to unstable internal conditions in Sudan".
The document that is dated to 26 June and written in Arabic was reviewed by Ahram Online and is actually a clear fake.
Aside from Arabic spelling mistakes and usage of various fonts, the document has the stamp of the Egyptian Consulate in Houston instead of Khartoum. The alleged handwritten signature of Ambassador Hossam Eissa presents him as the "General Consul" despite him being introduced in the same document as the "Egyptian Ambassador to the neighbour country".
The current Egyptian General Consul in Sudan is Ambassador Ahmed Adly.
