Much of Egypt will experience high humidity levels – caused by the Indian summer depression – that will increase the sense of hot weather this week, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecast on Saturday.

Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will see highs of 35-36 degrees and lows of 24 degrees, and the North Coast will see highs of 31-32 degrees and lows of 23 degrees, the EMA added.

South Sinai will experience highs of 38-39 degrees and lows of 27, northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 37-39 degrees and lows of 24 degrees and southern Upper Egypt will see highs of 41-42 degrees and lows of 27 degrees.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up heat index 2-3 degrees nationwide, the EMA pointed out.

Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and South Sinai will experience active winds intermittently, a matter that may reduce the feeling of rising temperatures and humidity levels, it added.
