“The management reached an agreement with coach Mostafa to end his contract amicably,” reads a statement by the Red Sea-based club.

“Mostafa was a perfect coach at both the technical and personal levels. We would like to thank him and wish him the best of luck in the future,” the statement added.

The 47-year-old coach took charge of Gouna last April, managing to secure only one win in seven games, with the team being held to a draw in two games and losing the remaining four.

After Tuesday’s draw, Gouna currently lie in 14th place of the Egyptian Premier League table with 22 points from 23 matches.

Meanwhile, Ahly lie third with 45 points from 21 games, six points behind leaders Zamalek, who played two games more.
