Hamlet Upside Down going for a third run

Successful theatre play Hamlet Bel-Maklob (Hamlet Upside Down) will be running for the third time at Cairo’s Salam Theatre on Monday following its recent success.

The new adaptation to Shakespeare’s Hamlet is written by Sameh Mahran and directed by Mazen El-Gharabawy. The show stars Amro El-Qadi, Khaled Mahmoud, Samar Gaber, Nehad Said, alongside new rising talents.

The Ministry of Culture’s Artistic Theatre House for Modern Theatre production is also featuring star actor Khaled El-Sawy as Hamlet’s ghost using 3D mapping and hologram technology.

The show is returning “after the big success of its first two runs that gained the appreciation of the crowd and critics,” as stated by President of the Modern Theatre Troupe Mohsen Mansour.

Hamlet Upside Down’s director Mazen El-Gharabawy is currently the head of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Theatre Festival for Youths.
