The EMA clarified that this spell of extremely hot weather comes as a result of rising humidity rates that, in turn, increase the feeling of the heat by two to three percent.

The statement also indicated that the average humidity levels in Greater Cairo will range between 30 to 40 percent during the day and 75 to 85 percent at night from Sunday to Friday.

Moreover, the average humidity rates in the North Coast will range between 55 to 60 percent throughout the day and 85 to 95 percent at night. Additionally, in South Sinai, it will range between 30 to 35 percent during the day and 55 to 60 percent during the night.

In terms of temperatures, Greater Cairo will witness highs of 36-37 degrees Celsius that may feel like 38-39 degrees from Sunday to Friday.

Meanwhile, the North Coast will experience highs of 32-33 degrees Celsius that will feel like 36 degrees. Furthermore, Upper Egypt’s mercury will soar up to highs of 43-44 degrees Celsius that may feel like 44-45 degrees.

In South Sinai, the temperature will record highs that vary between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius, however, it may feel like its 41 to 43 degrees.

Fortunately, the EMA said that moderate temperatures may be recorded nationwide during night-time.

The statement also advised people to stay away from direct exposure to the sun, as it increases the feeling of the heat.

Furthermore, it said that wind activity will be active over parts of Greater Cairo, the North Coast, South Sinai, and Upper Egypt across separated periods, which will increase the feeling of humidity.

Additionally, it warned that a morning fog would last until 6:00am every day during the 5-day period on highways, agricultural roads, and roads overlooking watery areas that connect Greater Cairo, the North Coast, and Canal cities.
