The meeting was attended by the Egyptian ministers of finance, transport, trade and industry and their Jordanian counterparts, the Egyptian foreign ministry added.
The arrival of the Jordanian ministerial delegation comes before the start of the first committee meeting on industrial partnership with UAE and Jordan on Monday
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that leaders of Egypt, the UAE and Jordan are keen to accelerate the activation of the trilateral Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development with a view to fostering economic and trade ties and strengthening the role of the private sector in attaining sustainable economic development, especially in light of the current regional and global economic challenges
In a meeting with Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea, Madbouly followed up on the progress made to implement the partnership.
The partnership targets reinforcing food and pharmaceutical security as well as increasing cooperation in the fields of industry, investment, agriculture, fertilisers, textiles, minerals and petrochemicals.
The partnership was signed in Abu Dhabi in late May in the presence of Madbouly, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and other high-level officials representing the three Arab nations.
During the meeting, the trade minister reviewed topics scheduled to be raised in the second meeting of the higher committee of the trilateral partnership that will be held in Cairo on Monday.
Gamea briefed the prime minister on the projects to be carried out within the first phase of the joint initiative, noting that these ventures would cover a number of productive sectors, including grain and livestock production, alternative medicines and textiles.
