Mild earthquake hits Northwest Upper Egypt’s Sohag

A mild earthquake struck approximately 17 kilometers Northwest of Sohag city in Sohag governorate on Monday, the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced.

According to NRIAG, a 3.47 magnitude quake occurred at 11:44 am (Cairo local time) in Northwest Sohag.

No casualties or property damages have been reported, NRIAG said in its statement.

Residents did not feel the quake, it added.
