In a phone call he received from the Israeli Primer Monday evening, El-Sisi asserted that achieving peace imposes the inevitability of ending the violence and repeated escalation.
He added that this would open the door to opportunities and efforts for settlement, stability, and calm in preparing to launch the peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis, which would change the reality of the entire region.
For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the successful mediation role played by Egypt over the past few days led by El-Sisi, to reach a quick cease-fire, and to stabilize and restore calm in the Gaza Strip, which consolidates Egypt's role as a mainstay for the stability of the Middle East region.
El-Sisi highlighted that Egypt made unremitting and focused efforts to contain the situation on the ground and to prevent the expansion of the confrontation and the increase in military actions.
Furthermore, he asserted the necessity to take immediate steps to improve the living situation in the Gaza Strip to alleviate its deteriorating conditions and speed up the improvement of economic relations with the Palestinian Authority and support Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
A ceasefire deal was brokered by Egypt to end nearly three days of fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza and held throughout the night into Monday morning.
Egypt had conducted intense communications with both sides since the outbreak of the fighting to reach a ceasefire agreement.
On Friday, Israel assassinated prominent Islamic Jihad leader Taysir Al-Jaabari in an airstrike on Gaza prompting the group to retaliate.
Since that day, Israeli aircraft had pummeled Gaza while the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group fired hundreds of rockets at Israel in retaliation.
The three-day Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip left 43 Palestinians killed including 15 children and four women, and 311 were wounded, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
Two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been living under an Israeli siege since 2007.
Israel on Monday said it was partially reopening crossings into Gaza for humanitarian needs and would fully open them if "calm" was maintained.
The ceasefire deal brokered by Egypt and its efforts earned praise from both US President Joe Biden and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
In May 2021, Egypt also brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions after a devastating Israeli onslaught on the strip left hundreds killed and injured and destroyed tens of residential and commercial buildings.
