The Brazilian's contract will run until the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

"I hope to repeat my success in Brazil with Egypt," Micale told a news conference. "I want to make history in Egypt like I did with Brazil."

The 53-year-old said he is aware that there are many players who are eligible for selection but have not yet been given a chance to play with their respective clubs in the Egyptian Premier League.

But he added that he still has time to build a strong team.

"Till now I don't have the official fixtures but we will try to work according to a specific strategy to overcome this difficult period."

Asked whether he will call-up Liverpool's Egyptian ace Mohamed Salah in the event of Egypt's qualification for Paris, he said the he hopes to have him available but acknowledged that it would be difficult.

"I faced a similar case with Brazil in 2016, especially with Neymar, and I know that it is so difficult to convince the clubs to let their stars play in the Olympics," he commented.

Micale believes that his experience in the Arab Gulf region will help him in his mission with Egypt.

He had previous spells in charge of Saudi side Al-Hilal and Emirati club Al-Zofra.

"Football in Brazil is so different from that of the Arab region but my previous experiences in the region would help me cope quickly," he concluded.
