DP World-Sokhna to establish logistics service areas in SCZone
Dubai Ports World-Sokhna (DP World-Sokhna) signed a contract on Thursday to establish a new 300,000-square-metre logistics service zone with expected investments of $80 million in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), the SCZone announced on Thursday.
The new project will provide about 600 direct job opportunities as well as indirect job opportunities, the SCZone said.
The operations to construct the zone will begin in the coming months, while it is expected that the operations of the first phase of this project will start by the end of 2023 with investments estimated at $50 million for that stage.
The agreement was signed by DP World-Sokhna CEO Urs Moll and the CEO of Main Development Company Abdel-Nasser El-Rafai.
Aside from the agreement, the DP World-Sokhna CEO discussed with the chairman of the SCZone Walid Gamal El-Din ways to boost cooperation between the SCZone and DP World-Sokhna as well as the current joint projects between them.
