With the Russia-Ukraine war ongoing for six months, the embassy called on Egyptians in Ukraine to go to emergency shelters if they heard alarming sirens and to stay away from government facilities and social gatherings in different parts of the country, especially on Wednesday 24 August.
Ukrainians will celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday.
The embassy's post comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Ukrainians in a video address on Saturday night to remain cautious this week, saying “Russia may try to do something particularly nasty, something particularly cruel.”
The situation on the ground continues to heat up, with the daughter of a prominent backer of President Vladimir Putin, Darria Dugina, 29, killed in a car bombing on Saturday. No suspects were immediately identified, with the Russian authorities announcing opening an investigation into the incident.
With the beginning of the Russian invasion on 24 February, Egypt launched an air-lift to evacuate Egyptians in the war-torn Ukraine via neighbouring countries.
Around 6,000 Egyptians were residing in Ukraine before the war broke out, most of them were students, according to officials.
Following the evacuation flights over the past months, less than 100 Egyptian students are still in Ukraine, newly-appointed Minister of Emigration Soha Samir told a cabinet meeting earlier in August.
