​Egypt, Cyprus tackle COP27 preparations

In the run-up to Egypt’s organisation of the 27th session of the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27) in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh in November, a Cypriot delegation arrived in Egypt for discussions about the climate summit.



Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla received on Wednesday Cypriot Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and the Environment Costas Kadis, Cypriot Ambassador to Egypt Polly Loannou and their accompanying delegation. 

El-Molla talked about the importance of COP27 and the efforts of the ministries concerned to prepare for the event in a representable fashion.

Kadis said Greece is interested in taking part in COP27 in support of Egypt's efforts to render the event a success.

El-Molla asserted the strength of Egyptian-Cypriot relations that highly contributed to supporting economic cooperation and increasing benefits from natural resources. 

He added that cooperation in the field of oil and gas is an important axis to supporting
