Egypt maintain position in FIFA's August world rankings

Egypt's national team maintained their position at 40th place in FIFA’s August world rankings that were released on Thursday. The list didn’t witness major changes in positions.

Egypt are in sixth place among African countries, behind Senegal at 18th place, Morocco at 23th, Tunisia at 30th, Nigeria at 31st, and Cameroon at 38th.

Brazil remains on top of the world ranking, ahead of Belgium, Argentina, France, and England respectively. 

The top 10 maintain last month’s ranking.

Egypt – who previously made it into the world’s top 10 teams after they won three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008, and 2010 – placed third among Arab countries, after Morocco and Tunisia.
