Fifteen ambulances were dispatched to the accident site to transfer the injured to Suez General Hospital and the bodies of the deceased to the mortuary.

In 2014, Egypt launched the National Road Project to improve the country’s ailing road network tightened traffic laws to lower accidents. 

By 2019, Egypt climbed to 28th place in the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report in terms of the quality of its road infrastructure, compared to 118th place in 2014.

Moreover, the country recorded a 9.3 percent drop in traffic injuries in 2021 compared to 2020 - 51,511 in 2021 compared to 56,789 in 2020 - according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).
