The Egyptian helicopter carrier Gamal Abdel-Nasser and frigate Al-Galala participated in the drills with the US destroyer USS DELBERT D.BLACK, according to the statement.

These drills, the second of their kind with the US Navy in a brief space of time, contribute to the exchanging of common experiences with the US side, benefiting from bilateral experiences in achieving the common interests of both sides, and enhancing military cooperation between the Egyptian and US navies, the statement noted.

They included execution of various activities that focused on exchanging operational position in the naval site of operations, as well as training on methods of synchronised work within a joint force, which is tasked with maintaining maritime security by confronting threats that may affect the flow of global trade and international freedom of navigation.

The drills come within the framework of the plan of the General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces to raise the level of training and exchange experiences with the armed forces of brotherly and friendly countries, the statement explained.
