Egypt s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi
“I present my sincere congratulations to Mrs Liz Truss for choosing her as the prime minister of the British government, wishing her success in her new job,” El-Sisi said in his statement.
The Egyptian president said that he was looking forward to cooperating and working with the new British PM to boost the historical bilateral relations between Egypt and Britain in order to serve their peoples' best interests and support stability, security and peace for the world.
“I will not miss the opportunity to thank former PM Boris Johnson for what he had done in supporting the Egyptian-British relations and his role in boosting cooperation between the two friendly countries and people,” El-Sisi said, wishing the former PM good luck in what comes next.
Former PM Boris Johnson announced his resignation from his post as the prime minister of the United Kingdom and the leader of the Conservative Party on 7 July.
Britain's Conservative Party chose Foreign Secretary Liz Truss as the party's new leader, putting her in line to be confirmed as prime minister earlier Monday after beating her rival, Rishi Sunak.
Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled to formally name Truss as Britain's prime minister on Tuesday.
