Bach will start his visit on 23 September and is scheduled to meet Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi a day later.

The ENOC said in a statement that the possibility of making a bid to host the Olympics will be discussed during the meeting as Egypt seeks to become the first African country to stage the gigantic event.

Bach will visit Egypt's Olympic city in the New Administrative Capital, the ENOC premises and the Olympic Museum, the statement read.

"Bach's visit to Cairo is very important to discuss many important files," ENOC chief Hisham Hatab said on Tuesday.

On Thursday, a spokesman for Egypt's sports ministry said the country is in talks with Saudi Arabia over a possible joint World Cup bid to host the football's most prestigious showpiece in 2030.
