“The Egyptian government and people stress their solidarity with the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the families of the victims in this tragic accident,” the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry wished a speedy recovery for the injured and success for the ongoing rescue operations.
Jordanian rescue teams have been struggling to rescue people from under the rubble of a multi-storey building that collapsed on Tuesday in the Jordanian capital.
Rescuers have recovered nine bodies from under the rubble, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported at around 9 PM.
