Wael El-Fashni to perform a concert at Zamalek Theatre

Egyptian singer Wael El-Fashni will give a concert at the Zamalek Theatre on Friday 23 September.

Wael El-Fashni, accompanied by his band, will sing some of his originals as well as some classic oriental covers, including a number of traditional Islamic chants.

Known for his improvising performance of mawal, the talented singer has been one of the favourite choices for TV themes since his big success started in 2017 with Wahet El-Ghoroub and Tayea later.

Among his famous originals are Safar Habibi, Maly Hila, Efrah, Ashtaq, Ana Gaylek and Zay El-Badr.

Appearing as an actor in a few TV and film roles including Saheb El-Maqam, El-Fashni established his fame collaborating with numerous singers and bands like Mohamed Tharwat, Mahmoud Eltohamy, Ihab Yunis, Mohamed Saad, Cairokee and Basata, among many others.

The experienced percussionist started his career over a decade ago as a vocalist and riq player performing with a number of well-known musicians like Sharkiat's Fathy Salama, the Yehya Khalil band and Ali El-Haggar’s band, playing at various venues and festivals across the globe.

Wael El-Fashny took part in the country’s reopening ceremony of the Avenue of Sphinxes in November.
