"I am proud of my players. We won and we delivered an outstanding performance for the second successive match," Vitoria said in the post-game press conference after beating Liberia 3-0 on Tuesday following a win over Niger 3-0 press last Friday.

"The players and our fans should feel happy of what we achieved in our first training camp,” the 52-year-old coach added.

“We played a good game. The players followed my instructions perfectly.  We performed in a strong way on both the defence and attacking ends. Liberia kept a tight defence but we managed to reach the goal on different occasions."

“I made five changes in the lineup against Liberia but the most important thing for me is to make sure that all players on the squad follow my tactical instructions on the field,” the Egypt coach explained.

Egypt played against Liberia without Liverpool star winger Mohamed Salah and Nantes striker Mostafa Mohamed who were rested by Vitoria.

“Although I wanted another week to train those wonderful players, the players learned my tactics very quickly and they showed a high level of discipline and seriousness.

“We proved that many of our new players deserve to represent the national team in the coming period.” the coach concluded.

The Portuguese boss will face his first tough test when Egypt play the world's number two in FIFA ranking Belgium in a high-profile friendly to be played in Kuwait on 12 November.
