According to legal sources, Ibrahim Khalil, known online as Ibrahim Malek, was arrested after a complaint was filed with the Prosecution General accusing him of “spreading debauchery and decency” in his videos on popular video-sharing platform TikTok.

The case against Khalil was filed by lawyer Ashraf Farahat, who previously filed cases that resulted in the arrest of a number of famous female TikTok influencers on charges of promoting debauchery.

Khalil’s TikTok videos, which revolved around being a 40 year old single man searching for a wife, have gone viral over the past few months

His videos began to become controversial when he started to co-host a livestreaming video with women and teen girls from Egypt and Arab countries speaking on TikTok with them in a suggestive way including sexual innuendo as well as comments demeaning Egyptian peasant girls in Nile Delta.

Khalil’s account on TikTok has more than 285,000 followers and over 67,000 likes, aside from the fan accounts that share his videos on social media.
