Egyptian stocks are deepening their losses, the benchmark EGX30 down 1.94 per cent at 4,721 points an hour before the close of Sunday's session.
The broader EGX70 is down 2.18 per cent.
Trade volume is around LE110 million ($18m), with telecoms firm OTMT seeing the heaviest interest, with around LE44 million of turnover.
The main index ended last week marginally in the green, recovering from a sharp loss made on Monday as tensions built between President Morsi and the military council over the status of the country's parliament.
