The latest was at Deir El-Bahari Temple and the Valley of the Kings in Luxor as a collection of clean energy solar-operated carts were provided to facilitate the transportation of visitors between both sites.
Mostafa Waziry, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities said that the operation of these carts is part of the second phase of the development of the facility management project in both sites. The first phase took place almost six months ago when a collection of electricity-powered carts was provided.
He added that more solar energy carts will be provided soon in all archaeological sites in an attempt to take concrete steps towards sustainable tourism.
