“My new album 'Sequana' is finally available everywhere! I'm so happy to show you this! A big thank you to everyone who participated near or far in the birth of this project, and to you for listening and support,” Massi said on her Facebook page.

Produced by Justin Adams, the 11-song album 'Sequana' spans various Eastern and Western genres such as folk, country, rock, calypso, bossa – along with sounds of the Middle East and the Algerian desert.

Massi, 50, wrote nine songs of the album that revolve around human relationships and the passage of time.

'Sequana' is gaining noticeable attention from Massi’s fans and critics globally.

Massi performed on Friday her first concert in Saudi Arabia at the AlUla Old Town Amphitheatre amid the ongoing AlUla Moments festival.

Massi, who is popular in Egypt, is known for her combination of North African folk with a myriad of influences, from flamenco to rock.

Her albums have received international acclaim, and she has millions of fans both in the Arab world and internationally.

The Paris-based artist, who performed in Cairo and Alexandria a few times, has been featured by Egyptian indie rock band Cairokee in 'Agmal Ma Andy' in 2019.

Massi remains faithful to her language and Arab roots, yet merges influences from other cultures and genres like Spanish flamenco, African instruments, and American folk rock.

Famed for her soulful unique vocals, poetic lyrics and swaying rhythms ranging from simple to rich melodies, Massi launched her career over two decades ago with her first album Raoui (2001), featuring some of her best-known songs, such as Gher Enta and Matebkiche.

Massi will perform ‘Sequana’ in multiple concerts in the upcoming weeks; on 18 October at France’s Forum Theater Boulevard of the Liberation and on 29 at London’s Barbican, among other performances.
