Shoukry made the remarks during a meeting with UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Africa Gillian Keegan, who is on a visit to Egypt to participate in Cairo Water Week (CWW 2022), which kicked off on Sunday under the title "Water at the Heart of Climate Action".
He also asserted the government's commitment to promoting British investors' engagement in national development mega projects and make the best use of the promising investment opportunities in Egypt.
Lauding the inaugural meeting of the UK-Egypt Association Council in July, Shoukry emphasised the importance of building on the outcomes of this meeting to push bilateral cooperation forward, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The two sides also discussed a raft of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its repercussions on global food prices, especially for developing nations.
They also probed the situation in Libya and Sudan, the spokesman added.
Welcoming Britain's interest in fostering cooperation on water issues, Shoukry briefed the British official on the latest organisational and thematic developments related to the upcoming 27th session of the United Nations Conference on climate summit (COP27) that Egypt will host in the iconic Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh next month.
