Ahly have chosen 25 July for a friendly match against Spanish side, Atletico Madrid, as both clubs prepare for the new season.
“We are working now on the negotiations about the benefits the club will receive,” the club’s football executive manager, Hadi Khashaba told Ahram Online.
The Egyptian champions announced earlier that they want 250,000 Euros to play La Liga team.
The winners of six CAF Champions League trophies are currently busy preparing for the 2012 season, in which they will take on archrivals Zamalek on 22 July in the second round, having defeated Ghana’s Chelsea 3-2 away in the first round.
Atletico Madrid visited Cairo in November 2011, where they thrashed Zamalek 4-1 in the White Knights' ongoing centennial celebrations.
