The NBE also raised the annual yield of current three-year-maturity saving certificates to 16 percent up from 14 percent for new and automatically-renewed ones.
Moreover, the bank raised the interest for the quarterly maturity of these certificates to 16.25 percent and thir half-year maturity to 16.50 percent.
The NBE's announcements followed the Thursday decision by the Central Bank of Egypt to raise the key interest rates by two percent (200 bps).
