“I enjoy training under the leadership of Koller, as he is a capable technical manager with great experience and a wonderful personality. I seek in all ways to develop more and more under his management. I also work hard to preserve his confidence,” Abdel-Kader said in an interview with Al-Ahram sports magazine.

The 62-year-old coach took the charge of Ahly in September 2022 to replace Portuguese Ricardo Soares, who was dismissed in August after a very brief tenure due to questionable performances and results.

Ahly, whose last season was one to forget after losing the league title and the Egypt Cup trophy, are scheduled to face arch-rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup on Friday at Abu Dhabi.

“Certainly, the Super Cup match is a strong match, as is the case with all Cairo derby matches, and we have prepared appropriately, and God willing we will be successful and crowned with the title,” the Egyptian winger added.

The 23-year-old Abdel-Kader said that he promises Ahly fans that he will play with all his effort and fight with Ahly to win all tournaments, adding that he wishes the fans continue supporting the team.
