Elbagoury's remarks came during his participation in the third edition of Al-Ahram pharmaceutical conference that was held over two days and concluded on Monday.
“Early expectation of crises as well as designing the mechanisms to deal with them is critical to save effort and time. It would also have positive impacts on the country’s healthcare system as a whole”, Elbagoury said.
Elbagoury also praised the proposal to establish a strategic drug warehouses that was put forward during the conference by the head of the Unified Purchasing Authority.
He stressed that establishing such a warehouse will mark a significant step towards facing the consequences of global challenges.
Moreover, Elbagoury asserted the importance of providing treatments for pandemics through future planning, maintaining that this has been one of the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
