Sisi made the remarks as he received on Monday British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), currently held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The president welcomed the British prime minister on his first foreign visit since assuming his new post, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

Meanwhile, Sunak voiced appreciation for Egypt’s successful, distinguished organization of COP27, praising the close ties binding Cairo and London and the unprecedented momentum they witnessed over the past years, especially at the economic and trade levels.

He emphasised that Egypt is one of Britain's most important partners in the Middle East; given its role as a fundamental pillar of stability and security in the region.

The meeting touched on joint efforts of the two countries to support and promote climate action at the regional and international levels, said the spokesman.
