Egypt seeks to cooperate with France in transportation and electric car industry: Sisi

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi asserted Egypt’s aspirations to increase cooperation with France especially in fields of transportation and manufacturing of electric cars.

The president said that Egypt looks forward to exchanging views with France, particularly on issues of food and energy security. 

El-Sisi made his remarks in a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) currently held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

For his part, Macron expressed appreciation of Egypt, praising the close and deep bonds between Cairo and Paris.

Moreover, he hailed the recent and unprecedented momentum in relations between the two countries in various fields, especially in the economic and commercial fields.

The French president also praised Egypt's remarkable success in organising a huge global event of the scale of the climate summit.

He asserted France's keenness on cooperating with Egypt as one of France's most important partners in the region.

He also praised Egypt's role in the stability of the Middle East, the Mediterranean region and the African continent.

The meeting also tackled consultations on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, especially the developments in Libya and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
