The meeting comes within the framework of the two countries’ membership of the G77 and China, Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and various multilateral frameworks that play an important role in climate negotiations, Shoukry noted.
Shoukry said Egypt highly commends Iran's high-profile participation in COP27, stressing that the conference seeks to facilitate the negotiation process among all delegations with the aim of reaching results that advance global climate action.
For his part, the Iranian vice president praised the excellent organization of COP27, affirming that the issue of climate change poses a challenge to all world countries.
