"We expect next week to be quite difficult, as it is expected to get colder, with temperatures dropping to minus 10 degrees (Celsius) at night," Kyiv region's governor Oleksiy Kuleba wrote on Telegram.
A day after dozens of missiles hit power stations in the biggest attack on energy infrastructure since the beginning of the invasion, Kuleba warned that power cuts will be in place in the Kyiv region in the coming days.
"After a massive attack on the energy infrastructure in the Kyiv region, emergency shutdowns are being carried out," Kuleba said.
"The destruction is serious, the damage does not allow us to go into planned schedules," he added.
The governor warned that "this situation will continue next week".
However, he added that "critical infrastructure works, generators work where there is no electricity supply".
"All hospitals and social security facilities are working," Kuleba said.
"Keep calm, local authorities are on the ground, energy repair crews are working. We will definitely survive these difficult times."
