General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan said Friday that sessions of the national dialogue will be public, except when the board of trustees decides to hold closed sessions.

In televised remarks, Rashwan said that priorities for national action will be determined soon.

Rashwan praised the government's preparation of the national dialogue, saying it was carried out accurately at the highest levels.

The 19-member of the national dialogue's board of trustees has completed over the past three months its selection of rapporteurs and assistant rapporteurs for the dialogue's three main tracks (political, economic, social) and their 19 subcommittees.

Representatives of the board of trustees took part as monitors in the country's Economic Conference and reported back to the board.

In late September, Rashwan said the dialogue is progressing at a steady pace and the sessions of the recently formed political, economic, and social committees and subcommittees are set to kick off officially within a few weeks.

The dialogue was called for by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi during the annual Egyptian Family Iftar banquet  last April.

In previous remarks, Rashwan said whenever a sub-committee finishes discussing a particular track and makes recommendations, it will present them to the dialogue’s board to be sent to the President for a final say.

President El-Sisi has asserted that all intellectuals, syndicates and political forces are invited to the dialogue, while assuring that only one faction is exempted from the dialogue, in reference to the Muslim Brotherhood group, which Egypt designated a terrorist organisation in 2013.
