Egyptian club Masry announced on Saturday parting ways with coach Ehab Galal following an incident during Thursday’s 2-2 league draw against Zamalek.

“Galal did not show up for a questioning by the club’s legal sector and so the board decided to part ways with all the technical staff members headed by Galal,” the coastal club revealed in a statement via Facebook.

“Coach Tarek Soliman will be a caretaker coach until appointing a new technical staff,” the statement added.

The Port Said-based club did not announce a specific reason for the decision, but the 55-year-old Galal reportedly insulted the club's supporters in the stands during Thursday’s game after they booed him.

Last Saturday, fuming fans vented their anger on Galal following the team's elimination from Egypt Cup quarters.

Following Thursday’s draw, Masry advanced to the ninth place with five points.

Last August, Masry appointed Galal as the new coach for a second stint on a one-season contract.

Galal led Masry to lose one game, win one game and draw in two in the Premier League before his disnmissal.

He had previously led Masry between December 2018 and February 2020, managing to help the team finish fourth in the league in the 2018-2019 season and qualify for the 2019-2020 African Confederation Cup.
