Egypt handball coach, Uwe Lommel, revealed that he is satisfied with Egypt's 14th place in the World Championship in Sweden.

“Our results are satisfying especially as our players’ average age is 24 and a half. We tested new player and gave them international experience,” Lommel said.

The team finished in the 14th place in the XXII Handball World Championship after losing 26-23 to South Korea in the final of the President Cup on Monday.

"Being drawn alongside with Spain, Germany and France made our mission harder," Lommel added.

With this placement, the Pharaohs are the top team in Africa and the Arab world, ahead of Algeria which finished 15th, and ahead of Tunisia which ended in 20th after losing to Japan (29-24) and Romania (30-29).

With 37 goals, Egyptian player Ahmed Al-Ahmar was named the 15th top scorer in the tournament, for the second time, same as in the last World Championship in Croatia.

The team is set to return to home on Wednesday, after a stop in Denmark.
