Ahly midfielder Mohamed Barakat is well enough to play in Sunday’s CAF Champions League match against archrivals Zamalek.
“Barakat suffered a blow to the chest, but this won’t prevent him from participating in a Friday training session before the Zamalek match,” Ahly doctor Ehab Ali was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
The 35-year-old player had been aggressively tackled by teammate Ahmed Shokry during training.
After beating DR Congo’s TP Mazembe in the first round of Group B, Ahly are finalising preparations for the second round against Cairo foes Zamalek who lost to Ghana’s Chelsea.
