Egypt premiere: Nabil El Gamil Dr. Tagmeel (2022)

Dr. Nabil, a cosmetic specialist played by Mohamed Henedy owns a beauty clinic where many circumstances reveal clients and their wishes in a comic way. The film stars Mohamed Tharwat, Mahmoud Hafez, Mohammad Henedy, Nour and Mohamed Sallam.

Mazaher ensemble (Zar)

The musicians of Mazaher, Um Sameh, Um Hassan, and Nour El-Sabah are among the last remaining Zar practitioners in Egypt. The music is inspired by the three different musical styles of the Zar tradition practiced in Egypt.

Egyptian Center For Culture & Arts - Makan, 1 Saad Zaghloul St, Cairo

Led by Farah Al Masri, Aragid ensemble performs a selection of traditional Nubian songs. The word Aragid in the Nubian language Fajikka means joy and happiness and is therefore linked to the songs of weddings, celebrations and holidays. The ensemble relies on the performer's interaction with the audience by singing, clapping and dancing.

Cairo Symphony Orchestra’s New Year’s concert in Cairo

Cairo Opera House, main hall, Zamalek

The New Year’s classics will be performed by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Giovanni Pompeo. The evening features also soprano Tehmine Schaeffer and the A Cappella Choir with the choirmaster Maya Gvineria. The same concert will be repeated in Alexandria on 1 January (see below).

Takht El Sellem is an Egyptian band that was formed in 2020 with a unique fusion music style playing the mashups of Eastern and international music.
