Egypt selected guest of honour at World Government Summit 2023 in UAE

Egypt has been selected as the guest of honour at the coming Dubai-hosted World Government Summit (WGS) 2023 scheduled for 13-15 February.

During its meeting on Wednesday, the Egyptian government reviewed preparations for Egypt’s participation in the event following a formal invitation extended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to attend the summit, according to a statement released by the Egyptian cabinet following the meeting.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly thanked the UAE for the gesture and affirmed the ongoing cooperation between both countries to ensure the successful organization of the summit.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat as well as by a host of Emirati ministers.

WGS 2023 will be held under the theme of 'Shaping Future Governments'.

Global leaders, experts and several decision makers are set to take part in the gathering to contribute to the development of tools, policies, and models that are essential in shaping future governments.

The WGS was kicked off in 2013.

A special celebration for Egypt is set to be held on the sidelines of the three-day summit, said Minister of UAE Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al-Gergawi who attended the meeting.

The Egyptian experiment in development and management will be presented during the celebration in the presence of President El-Sisi, the Emirati minister added.
