Ahly have completed the signing of Etoile du Sahel's young winger Mohamed Dhaoui, 19, on a four-and-a-half-year contract, the Cairo giants announced early on Saturday.

“Dhaoui is now an Ahly player after ending all the managerial and financial procedures and also after the player had successfully passed the medical scan on Friday,” the club said in a short statement via its official website without disclosing any further details.

Ahly are looking to strengthen their squad in January before heading to Morocco to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup next month.

The intensely negotiated deal is estimated at around $1.2 million.

Dhaoui, one of the hottest prospects in Tunisian football, produced a string of fine displays with Etoile du Sahel this season, leading the league’s top scorers’ chart with five goals after six games played so far.

Ahly’s Swiss coach Marcel Koller has recently expressed his displeasure over the team's attacking displays, stressing that his side needs reinforcements before their upcoming commitments in the FIFA Club World Cup and the CAF Champions League.

Dhaoui is the second winter signing for the Reds as the club announced on Thursday the singing of Smouha defender Khaled Abdel-Fattah on a six-month loan deal with option to buy.

Ahly currently lead the Egyptian Premier League table with 30 points from 12 games, five ahead of second-placed archrivals Zamalek.
