The minister’s statements were based on a report from the Head of the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine (CAPQ), ِAhmed El-Attar.
According to the report, this year’s exports increased 14 per cent over 2021, from 6,432,565 tons to 5,640,144 tons.
It stated that 406 agricultural products were exported from Egypt to 160 markets worldwide in 2022.
The top products were citruses, potatoes, fresh onions, grapes, fresh tomatoes, sweet potatoes, strawberries, guava, garlic, mango, watermelon and pomegranates, according to the report.
