The training session also witnessed the appearance of newly signed players defender Khaled Abdel-Fattah and Tunisian young winger Mohamed Dhaoui.

Tau, 28, missed Ahly’s seven previous games after suffering from muscle problems during the 3-0 win over Ittihad of Alexandria in the fourth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League in December.

“Tau resumed training after finishing his rehab programme to recover from muscle injury,” read a statement on Ahly’s website on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ahly’s in-form winger Taher returned after recovering from a collateral ligament injury that sidelined him for a month.

Abdel-Fattah, who came from Smouha in the January transfer window, and Dhaoui who was signed from Etoile du Sahel made their first appearance in the Red Devils training.

The Cairo giants are scheduled to face Masry in the 13th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

Ahly are in the driving seat of the Egyptian Premier League table with 30 points from 12 games, four ahead of second-placed  Future FC.
