T-shirt weather forecast in South Sinai & Upper Egypt during the day this week

Egypt is set to see warm weather during the daytime with temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius in the deep south of the country at some point this week, forecast the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

Temperatures are predicted to rise on Saturday and Sunday in most parts of the country, including Greater Cairo, North Coast, South Sinai and Upper Egypt, but they will start to drop Monday, according to the EMA's weekly bulletin.

Strong winds are expected in various areas in Sinai, North coast, Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta throughout the week with a 30-40 percent of light rainfall on some of those areas from Monday to Wednesday.

Beware! Morning fog will reduce visibilty on roads in and leading to Greater Cairo, Nile Delta, North coast, Suez Canal cities, Sinai and Upper Egypt on Sunday.

Highs ranging from 18-24 degrees Celsius and lows of 10-12 degrees are expected in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta.

Highs of 17-21 and lows of 13-11 degrees are expected in the North Coast from Alexandria to Matrouh in the northwestern corner of the country on the Mediterranean. 

South Sinai – home to Sharm El-Sheikh and other popular tourist destinations on the Red Sea in the winter will see highs of 21-27 degrees and lows of 14 degrees.

Northern Upper Egypt cities like Beni Suef and Minya will see highs of 18-27 and lows of 10-8 degrees.

For those heading to Luxor and Aswan in southern Upper Egypt, pack a T-shirt because highs will range from 21-30 degrees during the day.

But do not forget your sweater, because the temperatures could drop as low as 12 at night.
