Ahly will take on the New Zealand side on Wednesday at Ibn Batouta stadium in the tournament opener, with the winner qualifying to play the quarter finals against CONCACAF Champions, Seattle Sounders of USA, three days later.
“The game against Auckland City will not be easy at all,” Hussein El-Shahat told the club’s official website on Monday.
"The tournament includes seven big teams and there is no room for easy games.'
"Our priority is to beat Auckland City in order to continue our campaign in the tournament," he added.
The 31-year-old forward said he dreams of the gold to complete his collection of medals as he won the bronze medal twice with Ahly and the silver with Emirati side Al-Ain.
"I hope that the team go as far as possible in the competition and win a medal to make our fans happy'' .
“For me I won the bonze twice and the silver on time with Al-Ain. Now I dream of the gold one,” he concluded.
