During the visit, which took place 5-8 February, Qatari security officials visited the Police Academy, Anti-Narcotics General Administration of Egypt (ANGA) and General Department of Criminal Evidence investigation. They also met with their Egyptian counterparts to discuss ways to boost cooperation and exchange expertise between both ministries.

The delegation also visited Wadi El-Natron Correction and Rehabilitation Centre where they witnessed the health and social services being offered to inmates and the various ways used to to rehabilitate them.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the delegation met with interior minister Mahmoud Tawfik.

The visit of the Qatari delegation comes less than a week after Tawfik's visit to Doha at the head of a delegation from Egypt’s Ministry of Interior. During that visit, the Egyptian Minister of Interior met with Qatari officials, most importantly Qatari Prime Minister Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani
