Trio return boost Ahly against Sundowns in Champions League

Ahly trio forward Ahmed Abdel-Kader, right-back Khaled Abdel-Fattah and veteran midfielder Amr El Sulaya have been cleared fit for the Champions league game against Mamelodi Sundowns after recovering from their injuries, the club doctor announced on Wednesday.

“Abdel-Kader and Abdel-Fattah are now fit for the coming games. They joined the training session on Wednesday after recovering from their knee injuries,” Ahmed Abu-Abla was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

The Cairo giants will play the South African side away in the fourth round of the continental tournament group stage on Saturday.

“El Sulaya is also ready for the upcoming matches after recovering from his calf injury,” Abu-Abla added.

Ahly missed Abdel-Kader,23, Abdel-Fattah 24 and El Sulaya 33 and three other key players during the 3-0 win the Cameroonian side Coton Sport at home on Saturday in Cairo including 

The 10-time African Champions lie third in Group B ranking with four points, trailing South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns who lead the group with seven points and Sudan's Al-Hilal who are second with six.

Coton Sport lie bottom of the group without any points.

In-form winger Hussein El Shahat and winger Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim remain doubtful for Saturday’s game despite travelling to South Africa with the team.
