Egyptian side Pyramids FC has been defeated 1-0 by Morocco’s FAR Rabat in a Confederation Cup group stage game in Rabat to dent their hopes in the competition.

Ahmed Hammoudan was on the rebound for a deflected shot to score in an empty net after a blunder from Pyramids FC keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy in the 60th minute.

Pyramids FC should avoid loss against fellow country club Future FC in the final game of the group stage if they want to advance to the quarterfinals alongside already-qualified FAR Rabat.

The Moroccan side are leading the group with ten points, two points ahead of Pyramids FC and Future FC who have eight points each.
