"The Egyptian Football Association received the approval from the security authorities allowing 20,000 supporters to attend the game against Malawi at Air Defence Stadium," the EFA stated on Monday.
"The EFA is calling on Egyptian football fans to attend the highly anticipated game and support the national team in achieving victory over Malawi," the statement added.
In October, after a nine-year ban, Egypt permitted a partial return of fans to attend the Egyptian Premier League games. During this time, the CAF-mandated minimum of 5,000 fans were allowed to attend continental games at home.
Early on Sunday, Egypt's coach Rui Vitoria announced the final 24-man squad for the double headers against Malawi.
Egypt is currently third in Group D with three points after beating Guinea 1-0 at home but losing against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.
The Pharaohs will visit Malawi in the fourth round of the qualifiers on 28 March.
