The first train will start operating at 5:15AM, and the last trains on the first line will depart from Helwan and New Marg stations at 12:15AM.
The last trains on the second line from Shubra El-Kheima and El-Mounib stations will depart at 12:30AM, reaching Anwar El-Sadat transition station at 1AM.
Meanwhile, the last trains on the third line from Adly Mansour and Kit Kat stations leave at 12:07AM and 12:38AM, respectively. The last train arrives at Gamal Abdel-Nasser's transition station at 12:30AM, and the last train arrives at Ataba station—the interchange station of the second line with the third line—at 12:30AM as well.
The Egyptian government usually extends the working hours of the metro and other facilities during Ramadan, which witnesses high traffic.
Earlier on wednesday, Cairo Governor announced extending the operating hours of the Al-Azhar tunnel — the longest in Cairo with a length of 2.6 kilometres — during the holy month of Ramadan, which starts on Thursday 23 March.
Last week, the Cabinet announced the extension of operating hours for stores, eateries, malls, cafes, and bazaars until 2 AM throughout the holy month and Eid Al-Fitr.
