The office of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi on Thursday declared that the official announcement of members of his presidential team, initially set for Thursday, would be postponed to a later date, yet to be determined.
Morsi's presidential staff is expected to include specialists from different fields of expertise to advise the president.
On early Thursday evening, several new cabinet ministers were sworn in before Morsi at the presidential palace in Cairo's Heliopolis district.
Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi will retain his position as defence minister, a post he has held since 1991.
On Saturday, the newspaper of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party quoted an anonymous source that said the presidential staff would include senior FJP figure Essam El-Erian, Islamist scholar and former presidential candidate Mohamed Selim El-Awa, leftist activist Wael Khalil and political science professor Pakinam El-Sharqawi.
